IOD 2025 Holiday Release: Stamps
I love love love Iron Orchid Designs products. I’m sure that’s a shock to you! Since I’m not a stockist, I don’t have the new release at my fingertips like many of my creative friends do. So in an effort to keep a running list of ideas for myself (and something I can share with you), I decided to create this “brain dump” of all the things I envision creating with the IOD Holiday Release 2025 that I can give as gifts or sell (online or at the holiday craft show I’m prepping for). If you are interested in any of these limited release products, here is my affiliate link: https://www.juliesdesignsandsigns.com/?aff=12.
This section is all about the stamps! Here we go…
Sugar Plum Stamp Set
I LOVE NUTCRACKERS!! I know they aren’t for everyone, but we have a collection of over 30 nutcrackers that the kids love to pull out and play with all the time (so they don’t typically stay in the nicely aligned displays I try to create every year!).
I want to try stamping the nutcracker faces onto wood rounds, painting them and re-stamping for that clean line finishing touch.
I also think the ornaments on this set would make beautiful impressions in clay or be a gorgeous background any home decor piece.
I can envision the fairy and the text on an upcycled book with the floral around the corners and the ornaments placed off center (so only part of the stamped goes on) on the spine of the book.
Christmas Wishes
I have a feeling this will be the most popular stamp this holiday season. The Santa images alone give me so many ideas.
I would love to create wood ornaments with any of these using the stamp as the center focal point and use some other IOD moulds to create frames around them. I just did a video recently using a variety of IOD mould in different way for ornaments. It’s so fun to use the IOD moulds for holiday projects even if they aren’t holiday themed.
If you are a paper crafter, I can see these stamps making gorgeous Christmas cards, adding a vintage charm to your project.
I’m really curious to see how the tree looks as a clay impression. The stamps have been so detailed in the last few releases, creating impressions in clay hasn’t really offered the same effect as some of the older stamps. I’m definitely NOT complaining! I love the detail. It’s just more trial and error when thinking of doing impressions.
Holly & Pine
The tree in the center and the twig on the bottom right are the stamps that stand out to me the most in this set.
I would love to create one of those scrap wood tree boxes (that go around the base of the tree), paint it white and embellish with the twig and berries. I’m thinking red ink would suit our holiday decor the best.
I could see any of these on a canister or tin. You could stamp in black or red ink OR you could use paint. I prefer DIY paint for stamping with my IOD stamps. Because it is clay-based, it easily washes off your stamps without creating any issues. I typically paint a sponge brush with the paint then pat the sponge onto the stamp so I don’t oversaturate the stamp with paint.
Christmas Post
Ok, this is definitely a stamp set created for paper crafters, in my opinion. I love the images, even the actual postage stamp image.
I would love to create an ornament in the shape of an envelope and make it look like a letter to Santa that is ready to be mailed. I know I can do something with my wood cutouts, but I would love to see if there is a way to create something like this with clay.
The Christmas Tea image with the little girl sipping tea is ADORABLE. I think this would create an adorable shelf sitter or ornament. I’m wondering if there would be a way to stamp her onto a ball ornament. Pairing that with some of my personalized wood tags (with year and person’s name) would be so cute!
Autumn Blessings
This stamp is gorgeous, but I’ll be honest… it’s the hardest one for me. Not because I don’t love pumpkins or fall - but I think more because I feel like these stamps are perfect for thrift flips… and you kinda gotta wait for the perfect piece to get that inspo, right. So leave a comment and let me know what you would so with these….
